During the “Uzbekistan ICT Week 2025,” the establishment of national data centers in the country was officially announced. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
Within the framework of this project, Uzbekistan will soon be provided with modern and high-capacity cloud services located in the region. This will contribute to strengthening the country’s digital infrastructure.
National data centers will enable the creation of a sovereign system independent of foreign servers. This will allow local IT companies to use modern capacities within the country to develop their products, including artificial intelligence and other technological developments.
The Saudi company DataVolt has been appointed responsible for the construction of these data centers. Earlier, it was reported that investments of up to 6.5 billion dollars would be made in this direction.
DataVolt actively participates in the development of data centers worldwide, including projects in the USA, India, and Saudi Arabia, as well as the NEOM utopian city project. They are part of the Vision investment group, whose total value exceeds 100 billion dollars.
According to project representatives, this opportunity will provide a foundation for national companies to develop their products and projects using modern capacities within Uzbekistan without relying on external servers. This will be a significant achievement, especially for projects in artificial intelligence and the business sector.
At the same time, more than 50 country representatives, over 300 companies and partners, and more than 20,000 participants took part in the four-day forum. During the event, over 200 international experts, including organizations such as Meta, Microsoft, UzTelecom, Yandex Uzbekistan, Digital Engineering School, Zoomrad, Mobi.uz, Uzinfocom, Beeline, and Huawei, presented their products.
