
On September 24, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev met in New York City with Trent Kelly, a member of the US Congress and co-chair of the Uzbekistan Cooperation Caucus in the House of Representatives, as well as with Major General Bobby Gene, commander of the Mississippi National Guard. The meeting discussed issues related to further developing the strategic partnership relations between Uzbekistan and the United States. In particular, the strengthening and expansion of inter-parliamentary dialogue were addressed.
Significant achievements were noted in the field of inter-parliamentary relations and exchanges. Members of both the Senate and the House of Representatives of the US Congress regularly visit Uzbekistan, contributing to strengthening cooperation between the two countries.
At the same time, the caucus on cooperation with Uzbekistan continues its activities and its membership is expanding. Every year, Uzbekistan Days are held in Congress, reinforcing ties between the parliaments.
The high level of trade-economic and cultural-humanitarian relations with the state of Mississippi was emphasized. Additionally, the importance of Congress's support in further strengthening the strategic partnership between Uzbekistan and the US and in implementing agreements reached at the highest level was highlighted.
At the end of the meeting, an agreement was reached on organizing a visit to Uzbekistan by a Congress delegation and business representatives from the state of Mississippi in the near future. Source: zamin.uz
