The number of teachers working in the general secondary education system in Uzbekistan has significantly increased over the past ten years. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
According to the data from the National Statistics Committee, at the beginning of the 2024-2025 academic year, the number of teachers reached 564.9 thousand. This figure is calculated without duplicates and reflects the total number of employees in the sector.
For comparison, in the 2015-2016 academic year, the number of teachers was 385 thousand. Thus, over the past nine years, this figure increased by 170.9 thousand, which corresponds to a 43.4 percent growth.
Additionally, 71 percent of the teachers working in educational institutions, that is 401.3 thousand, are women. Male teachers make up 29 percent of the total number, amounting to 163.6 thousand.
The numbers clearly show that the number of teachers is steadily increasing year by year. For example, since 2015-2016, the number of teachers has gradually grown each year, reaching 564.9 thousand in 2024-2025.
This growth serves to improve the quality of education and expand opportunities to provide knowledge to the younger generation. At the same time, the increasing demand for teachers indicates the development of the education system.
The increase in the number of teachers is an important factor for the country's future progress and ensures positive changes in the education sector. Source: National Statistics Committee.
