
On October 6, the President of Uzbekistan, Shavkat Mirziyoyev, visited the city of Gabala on a working visit at the invitation of the President of Azerbaijan, Ilham Aliyev. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
At Gabala International Airport, our head of state was warmly welcomed by Azerbaijan's Minister of Culture Odil Karimli, Gabala district governor Sabuhi Abdullayev, and other officials. During the visit, issues of further strengthening the strategic partnership between the two countries, accelerating cooperation projects, and expanding regional ties were discussed.
In particular, joint programs in industrial cooperation, transport and logistics sectors, energy, "green" energy projects, digitalization, as well as cultural and humanitarian fields are being considered. The head of state will participate in the summit of the Organization of Turkic States on October 7.
Within the framework of the summit, a number of bilateral meetings with the leaders of member states of the organization are expected to be held. These meetings will address increasing mutual trade volume, boosting investments, and signing new cooperation agreements.
In recent years, Uzbekistan and Azerbaijan have recorded steady growth rates in trade volume, the number of joint ventures, and logistics routes. The Gabala visit is regarded as an important step aimed at strengthening political and economic ties between the two countries.
