According to Article 88 of the Administrative Liability Code of the Republic of Uzbekistan, various fines are established for cases of air pollution. In cases of improper burning of fuel or bitumen during construction works, citizens are fined from one-third to one times the established base calculation amount, while officials are fined from one to three times that amount.
If the violation is repeated, citizens are fined from one to three times, and officials from three to seven times the base amount. Additionally, for polluting the air by burning straw, dry grass, or branches, citizens are fined from three to five times, and officials from five to ten times the base amount.
From 2020 to 2024, 419 individuals have been held liable under this article, and in the first half of this year, 18 people were fined. Ecologists advise the public to keep the air clean, avoid burning waste, and strictly comply with legal requirements (source: zamin.uz).
