According to World Bank experts, the price of beef worldwide has reached a record high. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
This situation has been recorded as the highest level observed since 1960. In September 2025, the average price of one kilogram of beef was 6.9 dollars, approximately 85,000 soms.
The price has been continuously rising over the last four months. From August to September, the price increased by 0.6 percent, while the annual growth reached nearly 10 percent.
The main reasons for the price increase are cited as a decrease in supply and an increase in demand. Several factors influence the price of beef.
One of them is the long production cycle in livestock farming, as well as the overall rise in inflation levels. Additionally, prices are rising due to increased demand for beef in the United States and China.
The number of livestock sent for slaughter is decreasing because dairy products have become less competitive. Due to drought, pastures have shrunk and feed prices have risen.
As a result, the number of cows in the United States has fallen to the lowest level since 1951. The rise in beef prices is affecting food security in the global market.
