
The Head of the Presidential Administration of Uzbekistan, Saida Mirziyoyeva, held a series of important meetings during her official visit to the United Kingdom. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
During the meetings, issues related to further developing economic and investment cooperation between the two countries were discussed. Mirziyoyeva emphasized that this visit serves to strengthen relations between Uzbekistan and the United Kingdom.
At the roundtable in London titled “New Uzbekistan — a great country with vast opportunities,” Saida Mirziyoyeva spoke about the reforms being implemented in our country, the improvement of the business environment, and the favorable conditions created for foreign investments. She also highlighted that British business is becoming increasingly attractive to operate in Uzbekistan.
Currently, more than 270 British companies are operating in the country. This contributes to the further diversification and development of our economy.
Additionally, Saida Mirziyoyeva held meetings with representatives of leading economic and financial circles of the United Kingdom. The discussions covered support for the private sector, creation of new jobs, and development of an innovative economy.
Furthermore, she met with Lucy Rigby, the Economic Secretary to the Treasury of the United Kingdom, to discuss bilateral financial cooperation and Uzbekistan’s process of joining the World Trade Organization. It was emphasized that the British government fully supports this process.
The meetings within the framework of the visit are expected to open a new stage of cooperation between the two countries. When the investment potential of Britain and the broad opportunities in Uzbekistan combine, this will further strengthen ties in economic, cultural, and technological fields.
