The government of Uzbekistan has further expanded the possibility of visa-free entry into the country. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
According to a new resolution adopted by the Cabinet of Ministers, citizens of Bahrain, Oman, Jordan, Qatar, China, Kuwait, and Saudi Arabia can now visit Uzbekistan visa-free for up to 30 days. This decision was made within the framework of the country's international openness policy and tourism development strategy, aimed at increasing the number of tourists and activating business relations.
Additionally, the document shortens the processing time for business visas for citizens of 12 countries. For citizens of Austria, Belgium, the United Kingdom, Germany, Spain, Italy, Latvia, Malaysia, France, the Czech Republic, Switzerland, and Japan, this period has been reduced to 2 days, while for citizens of the UAE, Iran, and Pakistan, the business visa processing time has been set at 3 days.
Currently, the number of countries whose citizens have the right to enter Uzbekistan visa-free has reached 86. This is a record figure for the country and is expected to have a positive impact on its international image.
The most recently added country to the new list is China, where the visa-free visit duration has been extended from 7 days to 30 days. Officials emphasize that the visa-free regime serves not only to develop tourism but also to further expand economic cooperation and trade.
In particular, this decision is of significant importance for implementing investment projects with Qatar, Kuwait, and Saudi Arabia. According to the Uzbekistan Tourism Committee, the number of tourists visiting the country has sharply increased in recent years and is expected to exceed 8 million by the end of 2025.
Experts believe that the expansion of the visa-free regime will make Uzbekistan a leading country in Central Asia based on an open-door policy. This will activate not only tourism but also international business, transport, and cultural cooperation sectors.
With the implementation of the new resolution, a new stage will begin in the country's foreign economic relations, and Uzbekistan will establish visa-free connections with even more countries, strengthening its position in the global integration process. Source: zamin.uz
