New comprehensive measures have been developed in Tashkent city and region to reduce air pollution and mitigate the effects of climate change. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
The Ministry of Ecology announced this. The project has been submitted to the Cabinet of Ministers for consideration, with its main task being to significantly reduce the amount of harmful substances emitted from industrial enterprises and greenhouses.
The document envisages the installation of dust and gas purification equipment at enterprises, as well as the replacement of old boilers with energy-efficient and environmentally friendly systems. Additionally, the use of coal fuel will be gradually reduced, and a transition to alternative energy sources is planned.
According to the draft decision, enterprises that modernize production processes, implement purification facilities, and introduce automatic air monitoring systems will be supported through financial incentives and grants. Experts believe that if these measures are implemented, the air quality in the capital and region will improve significantly.
This will not only enhance environmental safety but also play an important role in creating a healthy and comfortable living environment for the population. At the same time, strengthening environmental requirements is regarded as an important step in Uzbekistan's strategy to transition to a "green economy" (source: Ministry of Ecology).
