
On October 29, a meeting took place in Samarkand between Uzbekistan's Foreign Minister Bakhtiyor Saidov and Georgia's Foreign Minister Maka Bochorishvili. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
During the negotiations, attention was focused on developing bilateral cooperation and discussing strategic directions. Cooperation in the fields of transport and logistics was the main topic of the meeting.
The parties emphasized the importance of developing the Middle Corridor connecting Asia and Europe and exchanged views on the role of this route in providing Uzbekistan with access to the sea. In particular, the issue of accessing international markets through Georgian ports was considered important.
Additionally, matters of expanding cooperation in the agricultural sector were discussed. New opportunities for mutual supply of agricultural products were explored.
It was noted that there is great potential for implementing joint projects in the industrial sector. Cultural relations and tourism were also identified as priority areas.
The increase in the number of Uzbek tourists visiting Georgia demonstrates the strengthening of friendly relations between the two peoples. This meeting, held within the framework of a UNESCO international event, once again confirmed the commitment of Tashkent and Tbilisi to developing mutually beneficial cooperation.
The parties agreed to continue close cooperation to implement the agreements reached.
