In Uzbekistan, a major social program to support low-income families has been planned as part of preparations for the 2025/2026 winter season. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
For this purpose, 1.2 trillion soums will be allocated from the state budget. According to the plan, 1.1 million families across the country will receive a one-time financial aid of 1 million soums each.
According to the National Social Protection Agency, this assistance is 2.5 times higher than last year's figure. Last year, 120 thousand families received aid of 270 thousand soums each.
This year, 822 thousand families have been included in the social registry, and more than 290 thousand families have been identified through the "Mahalla's Seven" system. Families added to the additional list are categorized as follows: families with a person with disabilities (76.3 thousand), families living solely on pension income (69.7 thousand), families with a breadwinner working abroad (34.7 thousand), families who lost their breadwinner (33.8 thousand), families with a person suffering from a serious illness (23.7 thousand), families of elderly people living alone (7 thousand), families not connected to the gas network (2 thousand), families with more than three members (26.2 thousand), temporarily unemployed (15.1 thousand), and individuals living alone (2.3 thousand).
Within the program, the most assistance will be directed to families with persons with disabilities and pensioners. These measures have been approved by the head of state and are aimed at easing the financial burden of low-income citizens during the winter season and improving their living conditions.
