In Uzbekistan, to adapt the legal system to modern digital challenges, a new bachelor's program – “Cyber Law” – will be established at the Academy of Law Enforcement Agencies starting from the 2026/2027 academic year. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
The duration of study in this program is four years. The main goal of the program is to train specialists who know how to review electronic criminal cases and effectively use digital technologies during the investigation process.
This initiative is an important part of the state's “Digital Prosecutor's Office – 2030” strategy, aimed at automating court proceedings and increasing the transparency of law enforcement agencies' activities. Additionally, the new educational program will be integrated with general courses aimed at improving the population's digital literacy.
Specifically, in November 2025, a “Cyber Culture Awareness Month” will be organized in Uzbekistan. This event is aimed at preventing internet fraud and familiarizing the public with network security rules.
It is known that one of the first international documents dedicated to combating computer crimes is the Council of Europe's Convention on Cybercrime, signed in Budapest in 2001. This document serves as a basis for the national legislations of many countries.
