Starting next year, a new state social insurance system will be implemented in Uzbekistan. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
This new system will be carried out in accordance with the decree of President Shavkat Mirziyoyev. Through this, citizens will be covered by social insurance on a mandatory and voluntary basis.
Mandatory insurance is paid from a portion of the income tax. Its amount is determined annually through the law on the state budget.
Voluntary insurance is carried out at the expense of citizens' own funds. The monthly insurance premium constitutes 5 percent of the minimum wage.
Insurance payments to citizens are made according to their minimum insurance record and the contributions paid to the State Social Insurance Fund. Additionally, a proactive form of pension payments will also be introduced.
From the beginning of 2026, payments for pregnant women, and from July 1 for temporary disability benefits, will be made under the new system. These changes are aimed at strengthening social protection for citizens and increasing the responsibility of the state.
