Muruntau and Almalyk among the world's leading gold mines
The list of the largest gold mines worldwide for 2024 has been announced. This was reported by Zamin.uz.

According to international analysts, this year again countries such as the USA, Uzbekistan, Russia, and Indonesia are recognized as leading gold-producing nations globally. The top position on the list was taken by the Nevada Gold Mines located in the state of Nevada, USA.

This mine includes several large shafts and has the capacity to extract hundreds of tons of gold annually. The second place was occupied by Uzbekistan's Muruntau mine.

This mine is considered not only the largest open-pit gold mine in our country but also one of the largest in the world. Experts emphasize that Muruntau is unmatched worldwide in terms of the volume of gold extracted and reserve scale.

Additionally, another Uzbek mine — the Almalyk mining and metallurgical complex — ranked sixth on the list. This situation demonstrates the country's vast potential in natural resources and the efficiency of its modern processing infrastructure.

According to international economic analysts, gold extraction volumes in Uzbekistan have been steadily increasing in recent years. The introduction of new technologies, significant investments in geological exploration, and modernization of production processes contribute importantly to this growth.

The list of the top 10 largest gold mines by production includes: Nevada Gold Mines in the USA, Muruntau and Almalyk complexes in Uzbekistan, Grasberg and Batu Hijau in Indonesia, Olimpiada in Russia, KazZinc in Kazakhstan, Ahafo in Ghana, Loulo-Gounkoto in Mali, and Kibali in the Democratic Republic of Congo. Experts believe that the high rankings of Muruntau and Almalyk mines on this list further strengthen Uzbekistan's international reputation in gold mining.

This holds significant importance for the country's economic development. Source: Zamin.uz.
