
President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev continues meetings with representatives of major international companies in the United States. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
The head of state held negotiations in Washington with Shilpan Amin, Executive Director of General Motors International. During the meeting, the parties discussed issues of further developing mutual cooperation and agreed to continue collaboration in the future.
It was noted that in the last five years, General Motors has produced 1.6 million vehicles in Uzbekistan. This figure demonstrates the country's significant potential in the automotive industry.
It is known that Uzbekistan is the second largest market for General Motors after the United States. Additionally, it holds a leading position in trade volume within Central Asia and the CIS region.
At the meeting, the General Motors representative expressed readiness to assist in the localization process of products. The Uzbek side announced plans to improve production quality and enter new international markets.
Such cooperation is expected to contribute to the development of the country's economy.
