In Sirdarya region, the issue of holding weddings and ceremonies in a proper manner, limiting excessive extravagance and wastefulness was discussed. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
At the meeting held on this topic, the regional governor Erkinjon Turdimov called on leaders, officials, and entrepreneurs to set an example for the people. He emphasized that weddings and ceremonies should only be celebrated as days of happiness and blessings.
According to the governor, in some cases, excessive luxury and showiness are observed at weddings and ceremonies. This leads to the formation of incorrect principles in society.
He recalled an article written by Mahmudkhoja Behbudi in 1914 in the journal "Oyna," noting the spiritual and economic harms of wastefulness. He stressed that Behbudi's words spoken a century ago remain relevant today.
Erkinjon Turdimov stated that governors and responsible persons must set a practical example for others by holding their own weddings and ceremonies modestly. According to him, it is necessary to abandon vices such as boasting and showiness in society.
"We must be an example to the people not only with words but also with our actions," said the regional governor. During the meeting, clear tasks were assigned to ensure compliance with the rules established for weddings and ceremonies, prevent wastefulness, and strengthen public oversight.
Through these measures, the goal is to hold weddings free from excessive extravagance and to foster a healthy environment in society.
