
President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev awarded doctors who have made a significant contribution to the development of the country's healthcare sector with state awards – orders and medals. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
Among those honored are young specialists who studied abroad and later returned to Uzbekistan to work. The head of state expressed gratitude to more than 600,000 healthcare workers and highly appreciated the results of the reforms carried out in the healthcare system in recent years.
In particular, it was noted that kidney transplant operations have been established in 45 districts across the country. In recent years, 230 trillion soums have been allocated for the healthcare sector, with 45 trillion soums specifically allocated for this year.
This figure is six times higher compared to 2016. During this period, 187 new hospitals and polyclinics were established in the regions, 1,244 medical institutions were renovated and equipped with modern technologies.
Primary healthcare service capabilities have increased by 60 percent. More than 400 complex diagnostic and treatment methods introduced in Tashkent city are now being implemented throughout the country.
As a result, the average life expectancy of the population in Uzbekistan has significantly increased. For men, this indicator has risen from 71 to 73 years, while for women it has increased from 76 to 77.5 years.
