A new system for improving the qualifications of medical personnel is planned to be introduced in Uzbekistan. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
This was announced by President Shavkat Mirziyoyev during a meeting with the country's doctors. As the head of state emphasized, a modern doctor must always be familiar with new technologies, treatment, and diagnostic methods, and regularly enhance their knowledge and skills.
For this purpose, it is planned to establish a Continuous Professional Medical Education Center in the country. Starting from 2026, opportunities for distance learning, practical training on simulators, and independent study will be implemented.
Over the past eight years, the number of private clinics has tripled, exceeding 9,000. Additionally, the number of hospital beds has reached 57,000.
Currently, 30 percent of medical services are provided by the private sector. The president emphasized the need to further expand this cooperation.
The head of state noted that the prices for services in private clinics are lower compared to the republic's centers. In this regard, he instructed to review the prices in state institutions to ensure fairness.
