Negotiations are underway between Uzbekistan and the USA to facilitate travel for citizens and representatives of business circles. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
This process is especially being strengthened by major agreements in the aviation sector. In particular, a contract has been signed between Uzbekistan Airways airline and Boeing Corporation for the delivery of 22 modern 787-9 Dreamliner aircraft.
This agreement is an important part of the strategy to expand long-distance air routes. According to Deputy Minister of Transport Jasurbek Choriev, this cooperation serves to develop economic and cultural ties between the two countries.
Specifically, establishing air routes to US cities will not only strengthen business relations but also stimulate the development of the tourism sector. In this regard, the decision to introduce a visa-free regime for US citizens is of particular importance.
Starting from January 1, 2026, US citizens will be able to enter Uzbekistan visa-free for up to 30 days. This decision was adopted as part of a policy aimed at increasing the country's tourism potential.
President Shavkat Mirziyoyev has developed clear measures on this issue and assigned relevant tasks to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Now, Tashkent is awaiting reciprocal measures from the USA to ease the visa regime for Uzbek citizens.
This issue was also actively discussed at the diplomatic level. According to Komil Allamjonov, advisor to the head of the Presidential Administration of Uzbekistan, the issue of easing visa requirements was raised during meetings with US officials in October.
In particular, negotiations are underway to extend the validity period of multiple-entry B1/B2 visas up to ten years. This is expected to further strengthen bilateral relations.
These processes will bring cooperation between the two countries to a new level and serve to develop tourism, economic, and cultural ties.
