
On November 11, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev laid the foundation stone for a modern football stadium with a capacity of 55,000 seats in the city of New Tashkent. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
This stadium is expected to be one of the largest sports facilities in the history of Uzbek football. The main goal of the project is to develop football in the country and to serve the hosting of international competitions.
In recent years, large-scale reforms have been carried out in the field of football in Uzbekistan. Football academies have been established, and 75 large and more than 300 mini stadiums have been built and put into operation.
Currently, more than 65,000 young athletes are training at football schools. Coaches and sports medicine specialists are involved in their activities.
In neighborhoods, more than 9,000 football fields have been created, turning football into a mass sport. According to the President, these reforms are yielding results.
The Uzbekistan Olympic national team participated in the Paris Olympics, the national team qualified for the World Cup, and our young footballers became Asian champions at the U-17 World Cup.
Additionally, the transfer value of 20 football players has exceeded 60 million dollars, and Abduqodir Husanov was recognized as Asia’s most expensive footballer. The new stadium will fully meet FIFA requirements.
The complex will be built based on the principles of “green energy,” “smart management,” and “comfortable environment.” This facility will be of great importance for the U-20 World Cup to be held in 2027 and will serve the future development of Uzbek football.
The stadium will be a source of inspiration for the younger generation, a symbol of pride for the people, and a great gift for football fans.
