Significant changes are being implemented in our country to make the financial system more convenient and modern. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
The Ministry of Justice has registered a decree establishing new regulations regarding the issuance and circulation of bank cards. This was announced by the ministry's press service.
According to the new regulations, bank cards are classified into the following types based on the user category: - **Business bank card** — intended for individual entrepreneurs and self-employed persons, allowing free management of funds. - **Social bank card** — designed for receiving and using government aid payments, pensions, and other social benefits.
Additionally, a system has been introduced to activate prepaid personal bank cards by identifying the user through a mobile application. This innovation will significantly simplify the use of banking services.
One of the most important updates is that teenagers aged 14 to 18 can now independently open a bank card in their own name. If the child is under 14 years old, the card is issued based on the written consent of one of the parents or a legal guardian.
Furthermore, the new regulations allow legal entities to make payments for drinking and wastewater services using corporate bank cards. This will help business entities make payment processes more transparent and efficient.
It should be recalled that during the summer of this year, the Central Bank conducted a survey among the population to study the level of cash usage. It was found that in some regions, the demand for cash remains high.
The new system aims to expand electronic payments and develop the digital economy.
