26 transport and logistics centers in Uzbekistan have been granted the status of dry ports. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
This decision was made at a meeting held in Bangkok within the framework of the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (ESCAP). The Ministry of Transport announced this.
The list of dry ports includes the Navoi Cargo center, Nukus center, Multimodal Trans Terminal, and Termiz logistics center. It is worth noting that Uzbekistan joined the international agreement on dry ports in 2021.
This agreement was initially developed on the initiative of Russia and signed in Bangkok in 2013. So far, countries such as Bangladesh, India, Kazakhstan, and South Korea have also ratified this document.
Dry ports are modern logistics centers that carry out processes such as receiving cargo, temporary storage, customs inspections, and clearance. Usually, such centers are located near seaports.
The activities of these centers serve to develop international trade and accelerate cargo transportation processes.
