
On November 15, the President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev and the President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev held a meeting at the "Koksaroy" residence in Tashkent. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
The press service of the President of Uzbekistan reported this. During the meeting, cooperation issues between the two countries in the fields of energy, transport, chemical industry, agriculture and water management, ecology, and information technologies were discussed.
It was noted during the negotiations that since the beginning of this year, the trade turnover between Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan has reached 4 billion dollars. An agreement was reached to increase this figure to 10 billion dollars in the future.
Additionally, it was emphasized that within the framework of industrial cooperation, a project portfolio worth more than 8 billion dollars has been formed, and plans exist to create an investment platform. At the end of the meeting, the heads of state agreed to further expand interregional cooperation.
It was decided to hold the first council of regional leaders in Kazakhstan in 2026.
