Belgium is preparing to open its embassy in the city of Tashkent. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
This was announced by the country's Minister of Foreign Affairs, Maxim Prevo. This step is being taken with the aim of expanding cooperation between Belgium and Central Asia.
The Belgian Ministry of Foreign Affairs emphasizes that Central Asia is regarded as a region of strategic importance, and strengthening involvement in the region is considered within the framework of national interests. Maxim Prevo noted in his statement that the network of diplomatic missions plays an important role in protecting Belgium's interests on the international stage.
He stressed the necessity for this network to be more active and effective in the current geopolitical environment. According to the Belgian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, new logistics routes connecting Europe and Asia through the Trans-Caspian corridor are being formed with the participation of Uzbekistan.
Belgium views active participation in this process as a strategic investment. Experts believe that opening an embassy in Tashkent will allow Belgium to closely monitor political and economic developments in the region, identify new cooperation opportunities, and assess risks.
This decision is expected to bring relations between Uzbekistan and European countries to a new level. Source: One.uz.
