An investigation was conducted by the prosecutor's office regarding the building of a new preschool educational institution commissioned in December 2024 in Bekobod district of Tashkent region. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
During the investigation, a financial shortage of 176 million soms was identified. A criminal case was initiated against the heads of the responsible LLC who carried out the construction works under Article 167 (embezzlement or misappropriation) of the Criminal Code.
It was also revealed that the chief legal counsel of the state institution "Unified Customer Service" demanded a bribe of 8,400 US dollars from the LLC head to resolve the investigation results positively. He stated that he would handle the matter with the help of his influential acquaintances.
During an operational event conducted by the Tashkent regional department of the State Security Service, the chief legal counsel was caught while receiving the demanded amount. All evidence was documented at the scene.
A criminal case was initiated against the suspect under Article 168, Part 3, Clause "v" (fraud), as well as Articles 28 and 211 (indicating bribery) of the Criminal Code. He was placed in custody, and the investigation is ongoing.
