Uzbekistan is purchasing Flexrotor unmanned aerial vehicles from Airbus Helicopters. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
The contract was signed with the company “Uztechtrade” based in the United Arab Emirates. This was announced by Olivier Mishalon, Vice President of Airbus Helicopters.
According to him, this agreement is of great importance for Uzbekistan, as the country becomes the first in Central Asia to purchase Flexrotor drones. The Flexrotor devices are mainly designed for reconnaissance and area monitoring.
According to the manufacturers, the main advantages of these drones are the ability to fly for a long time (up to 14 hours), high maneuverability, and the capability to operate from small sites, including naval vessels. Another important aspect is that they can be controlled without complex equipment.
Uzbekistan plans to use these drones together with helicopters in complex operations. This method aims to perform tasks more efficiently.
It is known that the Uzbek army also has European helicopters such as the Eurocopter AS532 and Eurocopter AS550. These technologies, together with the new drones, serve to enhance military capabilities.
