The "Ichan-Qal’a" complex located in Khiva is planned to be transformed into the world's first immersive smart city-museum. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
This project is outlined in the decree of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Shavkat Mirziyoyev. Additionally, a new tourist route called "Samarkand Heritage Road" is planned to be established.
In the city of Tashkent, the goal is to include monuments from the modernism era in the UNESCO World Heritage list. Furthermore, there are plans to strive for recognition of the city as a world leader in the number of mosaics.
Various measures will be implemented to develop tourism in Uzbekistan. For example, the position of deputy chairman in the committee for promoting tourism products will be introduced.
This position will be responsible for organizing the activities of the National PR Center and foreign representative offices. Representative offices will be opened in several countries to promote Uzbekistan's tourism potential.
At the same time, the committee is tasked with developing proposals to expand the visa-free regime, simplify entry into the country, and develop tourist-transport logistics. A tourism development strategy is planned to be developed for the period from 2026 to 2040.
Additionally, a marketing strategy until 2030 will be developed, with plans to actively promote tourism products in foreign markets. Moreover, there is a plan to attract famous global clothing brands to shopping centers in the country and to build outlet centers in the national style.
By 2030, such centers are planned to be established in Tashkent, Samarkand, Bukhara, and Khiva, and later in other tourist cities. These projects aim to bring Uzbekistan's tourism to a new level, further promote the country internationally, and contribute to economic development.
