The Tourism Committee of the Republic of Uzbekistan has announced that car-free zones are being established across the country. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
The Committee also provided a list related to the locations of these zones. Currently, Taras Shevchenko Street in Tashkent city, Kanal Street in the "Do‘stlik" recreation area in Nukus city, as well as the "Konigil" tourist village and Islom Karimov Street in Samarkand have been turned into car-free areas.
The full version of this list has been published on the official website of the Tourism Committee. The main goal of this initiative is to create comfortable pedestrian areas for both local residents and tourists.
Especially in major tourist centers such as Bukhara and Samarkand, the establishment of special pedestrian zones will provide even greater convenience for visitors. Such areas are expected to contribute to the development of tourism and the protection of the environment.
