Gas production in Uzbekistan continues to decline. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
In the first ten months of 2025, a total of 35.5 billion cubic meters of gas was produced across the country. This figure is 5.3 percent less compared to last year.
At the same time, oil production has also decreased. Last year, oil production was 602 thousand tons, which has reduced to 547.3 thousand tons this year.
The volume of gas condensate has also dropped from 1 million tons to 930.9 thousand tons. Against the backdrop of the decline in gas production, neighboring Kazakhstan has expressed its readiness to increase the transit volume of Russian gas to Uzbekistan.
Kazakhstan also plans to cooperate with Tashkent in the fields of the oil industry and nuclear energy. According to Kazakhstan's forecasts, the transit volume of Russian gas to Uzbekistan is expected to reach 6 billion cubic meters this year.
Last year, this figure was 5.6 billion cubic meters. Additionally, in September, Uzbekistan's President Shavkat Mirziyoyev announced that the country's geologists had discovered a large gas field on the Ustyurt Plateau.
It is said that the reserves of this gas field are located at a depth of 7 kilometers. This discovery is expected to open new opportunities in the country's gas industry.
