
Measures to improve air quality are ongoing in the city of Tashkent. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
According to the city administration, on November 26, a distance of 485 kilometers of central and inner streets was cleaned with the help of 77 special watering machines. These efforts are aimed at reducing air pollution.
Additionally, nearly 2,500 construction sites were inspected, and work was temporarily suspended at 890 of them. The movement of trucks during peak hours is restricted, and 14 drivers were fined for exceeding the limits of harmful emissions.
To improve the ecological environment, 58 fountains were put into operation in the city, and irrigation systems were installed in more than 180 schools and kindergartens. Over 3,100 tons of waste were removed by communal services, and areas around markets were cleaned.
According to the city administration's data as of 12:00 on November 27, the air pollution level in Tashkent reached an index of 203, rated as "very harmful." In particular, the concentration of PM2.5 particles is 128.0 µg/m³.
