Amendments have been made to the Customs Code of Uzbekistan. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
According to these amendments, from now on, customs duties will be charged based on established tariffs for products manufactured in countries with the most favorable conditions. This process will be carried out regardless of where the product was shipped from.
If the product is imported from an unknown manufacturer or from countries that do not provide the most favorable conditions for Uzbekistan, additional customs duties will be applied. These additional charges will be determined based on the amount of the product's customs rate.
For example, an additional charge of 5% will be introduced for products with an ad valorem rate of up to 10%, 10% for products with rates from 10% to 20%, 15% for products with rates from 20% to 30%, and 20% for products with rates of 30% and above. This law will come into force three months after its official publication.
These changes aim to protect the country's economy and create favorable conditions for local manufacturers. Source: zamin.uz
