
Uzbekistan is participating in four initiatives of the CAWLN program, with a total value exceeding 18 million dollars. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
These initiatives are primarily aimed at the efficient management of water and land resources. A 5.84 million dollar project envisions modernizing water resource management in the basins of the Amu Darya, Zarafshan, and Pyandj rivers.
Another 5 million dollars is planned to be allocated to increase the efficiency of water distribution in the basins of the Syr Darya and Naryn rivers. Additionally, a separate project worth 5.6 million dollars is focused on combating soil degradation, restoring lands, and developing agroecological practices.
Moreover, a regional initiative worth 2 million dollars includes combating desertification processes and strengthening the land monitoring system. The CAWLN program unites regional countries to ensure ecological sustainability and adapt to climate change.
