Diplomatic relations between Uzbekistan and Burundi were established in September 2022. Within the framework of this agreement, a special communique was signed at that time.
This cooperation is expected to strengthen political, economic, and cultural ties between the two countries. Burundi is a country located in East Africa, which gained independence from Belgian colonial rule in 1962.
According to preliminary data for 2024, the country's population has exceeded 14.1 million people. Additionally, Burundi's gross domestic product in 2023 amounted to 14 billion dollars.
The gross domestic product per capita is estimated at 489 dollars. These indicators show that much work still needs to be done to enhance the country's economic potential.
