Within the framework of developing financial technologies in Uzbekistan, it is planned to introduce unified standards for making payments via QR codes. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
This program is expected to be implemented by 2026. The Central Bank has been assigned the task of launching a pilot project for a universal QR code in cooperation with financial institutions, and this process is expected to be completed by the end of this year.
At the beginning of next year, the development and approval of documents related to this technology are planned. The unified QR code system is scheduled to be fully operational from February 2024.
This innovation will contribute to making payment systems in the country more convenient and secure. Additionally, from September 2024, an open banking system is expected to start operating in Uzbekistan.
This platform will provide banks, payment organizations, and companies related to financial technologies with the opportunity to exchange information securely. The system aims to improve the quality of financial services and create convenience for customers.
