1 billion dollar investment will be attracted for the development of fintech in Uzbekistan
President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev has made an important decision to develop the financial technology (fintech) sector in the country. This was reported by Zamin.uz.

According to this decision, it is planned to attract foreign investments amounting to 1 billion US dollars for startups operating in the fintech direction. In addition, a venture fund and an innovation center with a charter capital of 50 million dollars will be established under the Central Bank.

This center will serve to support and develop projects in the fintech sector. According to the plan, the number of fintech companies in the country is aimed to reach 200.

Starting from January 1, 2026, up to 50 percent of the education expenses of participants in the fintech direction at the center will be covered, but this amount should not exceed 20 thousand dollars. Furthermore, the Central Bank plans to organize major international forums on financial technologies annually.

These events will be held regularly and will contribute to the international development of the sector.
