An important step has been taken in the scientific and technical field in Uzbekistan. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
Recently, the law "On the accession of the Republic of Uzbekistan to the International Metric Convention" was adopted. With this, the country became a full participant of the Convention signed in 1875.
This decision is recognized not only as an official document but also as an important step initiating a new quality phase in metrology, science, trade, and industry. By joining the International Metric Convention, Uzbekistan now participates in the activities of the International Bureau of Weights and Measures (BIPM).
This provides the country with the opportunity to agree on measurement standards based on a single global criterion. From now on, measurements carried out in Uzbekistan will be recognized by the Convention's member states.
Due to this decision, national standards will be adapted to the international measurement system. For example, many measurement units such as mass, length, temperature, and time will operate according to international standards.
This increases trust in both domestic and foreign markets and ensures transparency. In particular, it simplifies technical export-import processes, reduces technical barriers, and facilitates product quality certification.
Additionally, new opportunities are created for many sectors including industry, technology, agriculture, medicine, and others. Since calibration and certification processes have been simplified, manufacturers will find it easier to enter the international market.
Wide opportunities also open up in the field of science. Local laboratories and research institutes will begin to operate in harmony with international standards.
This will improve the quality of scientific research and stimulate innovative development. This decision also plays an important role in strengthening investor confidence.
International partners and major organizations view Uzbekistan’s products and certificates with great trust, which further develops economic relations. In short, the adoption of this law strengthens Uzbekistan’s integration into the global economic system and opens the door to new opportunities in industry, science, and technology.
