Local high-speed trains will be produced in Uzbekistan
Uzbekistan is planning to start producing its first locally made high-speed trains in the near future. This was reported by Zamin.uz.

This was announced by Hikmatulla Rahmatov, the first deputy chairman of the joint-stock company "Uzbekistan Railways." He shared these plans with journalists during the international forum on the Trans-Caspian route and connectivity held in Tashkent on November 27.

According to Rahmatov, negotiations on producing high-speed trains at a local factory in cooperation with foreign companies are almost complete. A decision is expected to be made soon.

According to the initial plan, train production will begin in 2027. These trains will be manufactured in Uzbekistan in partnership with a company from one of the world's advanced countries.

Rahmatov emphasized that the main advantages of local production include the significantly lower cost of the new trains compared to imported products. This is due to factors such as the expertise of local specialists, the opportunity to master technologies, and the retention of tax revenues within the country.

In Rahmatov's opinion, this process will contribute to increasing the knowledge and experience of local personnel and fostering innovative approaches. Additionally, the new high-speed trains are planned to be exported not only within Uzbekistan but also to Central Asia, the Caucasus, and CIS countries.

These products fully comply with international standards. Rahmatov stressed that the high-speed trains produced in Uzbekistan will be more modern than those available only in Russia among the CIS countries.

At the same time, their price is expected to be 10–15 percent cheaper than trains purchased from abroad. Local production will not only bring economic benefits but also lead to positive outcomes such as creating new jobs, developing exports, and increasing foreign currency earnings.

At the initial stage, the production of 10 high-speed trains per year is planned. Source: One.uz.
