Important measures are being planned in Uzbekistan to increase the financial freedom of citizens and to introduce new technologies. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
These changes are outlined in the "roadmap" for the development of financial technologies approved by President Shavkat Mirziyoyev on November 27, 2023. According to the document, by December 2025, the Central Bank will develop a mechanism that allows citizens to choose any bank or payment system to receive their salaries.
This innovation will enable employees to use financial services according to their choice and will increase competition among banks. Additionally, by June 2026, a mass parallel payment system will be introduced.
This system will allow employers to transfer salaries to multiple banks simultaneously. As a result, employees will have the opportunity to use a system convenient for them without being tied to any single financial institution.
Furthermore, in February 2026, person-to-person (P2P) money transfers via phone numbers will be implemented through a fast payment system. At the same time, the possibility to transfer funds using any application through Open API technology will also be created.
These innovations will make it even more convenient and free for citizens to use financial services.
