Uzbek mountaineer Alyona Aitova successfully climbed Island Peak (Imja Tse) in the Himalayas, located on the border between India and Nepal. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
She reached the summit at an altitude of 6189 meters, becoming the first Uzbek woman in history to conquer this height. According to experts, climbing Island Peak is one of the most challenging preparation stages on the Everest route.
This route requires not only physical strength but also a high level of technical skills. Especially, the final part of the path includes steep ice and snow slopes, dangerous glaciers, and 50–65 degree inclines, demanding great skill and caution from climbers.
Alyona Aitova ascended the summit using fixed ropes and ascender equipment. The descent was carried out with the help of a "figure-eight" device, commonly used by professional mountaineers.
Therefore, climbing Island Peak is not a simple trip but a serious test requiring special technical preparation. Aitova's achievement is an important event in the history of Uzbek women in sports, marking a new stage.
This accomplishment is recognized not only as a result of Alyona Aitova's passion and hard work but also as a vivid proof demonstrating the capabilities of Uzbek women in the field of sports to the world. Source: zamin.uz.
