
Today, on December 6, an earthquake occurred in some regions of Uzbekistan. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
According to the data from the Seismological Monitoring Center, the earthquake was recorded at night, at 02:14. This natural event was felt in several provinces of the country, causing brief concern.
The epicenter of the earthquake was located in Pop district of Namangan region, which is approximately 135 kilometers southeast of Tashkent city. The seismic activity was close to 5 points, with a magnitude of 4.5, and the earthquake's focus was at a depth of 17 kilometers.
The coordinates of the epicenter were determined to be 40.89° north latitude and 70.75° east longitude. The levels of the natural event's perception across Uzbekistan were as follows: 3 points in Namangan region, 2–3 points in Fergana region, 2 points in Andijan region, 2 points in Tashkent city, and around 2 points in Sirdaryo region.
According to experts, earthquakes of this magnitude usually do not cause significant damage. Monitoring of seismic activity in the area continues and necessary measures are being taken.
