Uzbekistan ranked 67th among the world's most peaceful countries. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
This was announced in the Global Peace Index 2025 ranking prepared by the Institute for Economics and Peace. The ranking assessed the security and stability levels of 163 countries.
The authors of the study emphasized that the level of peace worldwide continues to decline. This year, the global peace index decreased by an average of 0.36 percent.
This is a negative trend observed for the sixth consecutive year. Experts associate this situation with the increased risk of international and regional conflicts.
For Uzbekistan, this year's ranking was positive. The country moved up two positions compared to last year, placing between Moldova and Cyprus.
Among Central Asian countries, Kazakhstan showed the best result, ranking 56th. Following it were Kyrgyzstan (78th), Tajikistan (79th), and Turkmenistan (87th).
The list of the most peaceful countries includes Iceland, Ireland, New Zealand, Austria, Switzerland, Singapore, Portugal, Denmark, Slovenia, and Finland. Russia is positioned at the lower end of the ranking.
Additionally, Ukraine, Sudan, the Democratic Republic of Congo, Yemen, Afghanistan, Syria, South Sudan, Israel, and Mali were identified as the least peaceful countries. According to the data, the Global Peace Index ranking is based on 23 indicators.
These include criteria such as public safety, the state of internal and external conflicts, and the degree of militarization of countries.
