New incentives have been introduced to develop the electric vehicle infrastructure in Uzbekistan. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
According to the decree signed by President Shavkat Mirziyoyev, from January 1, 2026, to January 1, 2028, certain goods will be exempt from customs duties. According to the Ministry of Justice, these incentives apply to electric vehicles, their spare parts, and charging stations serving electric vehicles.
This decision aims to popularize "green" transport and expand modern infrastructure in the country. Additionally, a number of benefits have been established to develop the sericulture sector.
According to the decree, spare parts for harvesting and weaving equipment used in silk production, mulberry seeds, seedlings, and silkworm breeds are exempt from customs duties. Furthermore, tax benefits have been introduced for companies operating in the waste management sector.
Between 2026 and 2031, companies engaged in waste collection, transportation, sorting, and processing will pay only 1 percent income and social tax. However, to benefit from these incentives, at least 90 percent of the company's income must come from waste management activities, and employees' monthly salaries must not be less than twice the minimum wage.
These measures serve to develop environmentally friendly transport and the waste management sector in the country. Source: one.uz
