In Uzbekistan, October 20 is "Rescuers' Day"

The Ministry of Emergency Situations of Uzbekistan has developed a draft law to establish Rescuers' Day in our country. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
This draft, analyzing the years of development in the field, its unique history, and the documents of the President of Uzbekistan aimed at improving the emergency system, proposes to designate October 20 as "Uzbekistan Rescuers' Day." The main goal of this draft law is to widely promote the role and importance of the rescuer profession in society, as well as to support qualified personnel working in this field.
If the draft is adopted, "Rescuers' Day" will be officially celebrated annually on October 20 in our country. This holiday will be widely celebrated not only by employees of rescue units at economic facilities but also by volunteer rescuers.
According to information, countries such as Russia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Belarus, Ukraine, Armenia, and the Republic of Korea also pay special attention to the rescuer profession and officially celebrate "Rescuers' Day" as a professional holiday. Internationally, the United Nations designated the second Wednesday of October in 1989, and October 13 in 2017 as the "International Day for Disaster Risk Reduction."
If this law comes into force in our country, respect and attention towards the rescuer profession will increase further. This will allow for greater appreciation of their activities and broader promotion of their role and contribution in society.
