A contract worth 80 million euros was signed for Afrosiyob trains

Spain's Talgo company has reached another important agreement with Uzbekistan's railway system. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
Within the framework of this contract, the company will provide long-term technical maintenance for Afrosiyob high-speed trains. This was reported by upl.uz.
The contract is valued at 80 million euros and covers the next 10 years. This agreement includes six Talgo 250 train sets.
These trains constitute the main part of high-speed rail service in Uzbekistan. The Afrosiyob brand is well known among passengers and tourists, and the Spanish side considers this project one of the largest service agreements in the region.
Cooperation between Talgo and Uzbekistan's railway system has lasted for over 15 years. The initial phase of cooperation began with the introduction of high-speed train service on the Tashkent – Samarkand route.
The new contract covers the entire technical maintenance process of the trains, that is, their "life cycle." According to the agreement, Talgo specialists will continuously ensure the technical readiness of the trains.
This process includes scheduled technical inspections, system diagnostics, and complex repair works. Additionally, original spare parts will be regularly supplied.
This reduces the risk of train downtime and ensures a high level of passenger transportation safety. Afrosiyob trains have unique technological solutions.
In particular, the passive tilt system of the carriage allows passing curved sections 20-30 percent faster than usual, while maintaining passenger comfort and safety.
