The driver who hit a child in Shofirkon and fled has been found

The Bukhara Region Internal Affairs Department provided official information regarding the traffic accident that occurred in Shofirkon district and the subsequent actions taken. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
Reports had circulated on social media about “Damas” and “Labo” vehicles being detained without proper documentation. The department issued an explanation regarding this situation.
It was revealed that on January 7, 2026, at 14:12, a report about a traffic accident was received from Shofirkon district hospital to the Internal Affairs Department. As a result of the incident, a minor citizen born in 2011, M.T.,
was admitted to the hospital with various injuries. During the investigation, it was determined that the child collided with a white “Damas” vehicle approaching from behind while riding a bicycle.
The driver fled the scene and did not provide assistance to the victim. In order to solve the crime, urgent search operations were conducted in accordance with the law.
Specifically, white “Damas” and “Labo” vehicles in the Shofirkon district were inspected. According to official information, these vehicles were only temporarily detained and returned to their owners as no violations were found.
Explanations were given to the drivers. As of 00:00 on January 9, 2026, expert examination results identified the suspect who caused the incident as B.U., born in Gijduvon district.
It was reported that the incident occurred around 11:50 on January 7, 2026, and the suspect admitted his guilt.
The white “Damas” vehicle belonging to him was also found. Currently, appropriate procedural measures are being taken within the framework of the law regarding this case.
The Bukhara Region Internal Affairs Department denied reports claiming that “drivers were detained for a long time.” No complaints of this nature have been received by the internal affairs bodies.
