Uzbekistan and Belgium: Cooperation Development Discussed

The Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Bakhtiyor Saidov, recently held a meeting with Belgium's new ambassador, Erik De Mayer. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
During the meeting, the minister received copies of the ambassador's credentials. This marked the official start of the ambassador's activities in Uzbekistan.

In particular, the necessity to develop cooperation in trade, investment, and business sectors, as well as to expand economic partnership, was emphasized. The parties focused on further strengthening mutually beneficial relations.
At the end of the meeting, Bakhtiyor Saidov wished Erik De Mayer success in his diplomatic activities in Uzbekistan. For reference, the opening of Belgium's embassy in Tashkent was announced in the fall of 2025.
