The number of enterprises in Uzbekistan reached 475 thousand
As of January 1, 2026, the number of enterprises operating in Uzbekistan reached 474.9 thousand. This was reported by Zamin.uz.

This information is based on data from the National Statistics Committee. The majority of enterprises operate in the trade sector.

There are 153.2 thousand companies in this sector, accounting for 32.3 percent of the total. Small businesses constitute the main part of enterprises in the country, numbering 403.8 thousand or 85 percent of all enterprises.

By region, the largest number of enterprises is located in Tashkent city. Here, 108.7 thousand enterprises operate, representing 22.9 percent of the market.

Following are Tashkent region (46.5 thousand), Samarkand region (41.2 thousand), and Fergana region (38.2 thousand). Among entrepreneurs, the most common organizational-legal form remains the limited liability company (LLC).

Currently, 170.4 thousand enterprises operate in this format. Additionally, the number of enterprises with foreign capital participation has significantly increased.

Within one year, the number of such enterprises grew by 22 percent, reaching 18.1 thousand. China leads in this area, having established 5 thousand enterprises in the country.

Following are Russia (3.2 thousand) and Turkey (2.1 thousand). Over the past five years, the number of foreign companies has nearly doubled.
