Transit cargo through Uzbekistan exceeded 2.8 million tons

In 2025, the volume of international cargo transportation and transit carried out through the territory of Uzbekistan exceeded 2.8 million tons. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
The Ministry of Transport provided this information. According to Kursiv.uz, a significant increase in cargo volume has been observed in recent years.
Looking at the figures, the cargo flow along the Middle Corridor was 500 thousand tons in 2020, while by 2025 this figure exceeded 1 million tons. In particular, the cargo volume on the China — Kyrgyzstan — Uzbekistan route has sharply increased.
The cargo transportation volume on this route reached from 33.7 thousand tons to 1.8 million tons. Additionally, Uzbekistan is actively promoting the Trans-Afghan railway project.
Currently, a technical and economic feasibility study is being developed for the project. In the field of road transport, an e-Permit electronic permit system has been introduced in cooperation with Kyrgyzstan and Azerbaijan.
This system serves to make the cargo transportation processes more convenient and efficient. Also, 24 transport and logistics centers in the country have been granted the status of international "dry ports".
This initiative will accelerate the cargo handling process and create a foundation for making transit through Uzbekistan even more efficient.
