Penalties for violence against minors will be increased

Reports have spread on social networks about a 14-year-old girl in Uchko‘prik district of Fergana region being sexually assaulted by several individuals. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
This incident attracted wide public attention and responses were expressed on this issue. Dilnoza Azizova, a deputy of the Legislative Chamber of the Oliy Majlis and a member of the "National Revival" faction, put forward a number of proposals to prevent such crimes.
She emphasized the necessity of taking strict measures against sexual violence and torture against children. According to the deputy's proposals, penalties for sexual crimes against minors should be significantly increased.
Additionally, it was proposed to introduce an open and publicly monitored registry for individuals who commit crimes against children. Furthermore, the need to establish a mandatory preventive system aimed at protecting children at the school, neighborhood, and family levels was noted.
The importance of strengthening the mechanism for providing continuous psychological and legal assistance to affected children at the state's expense was also emphasized. According to the deputy, such measures serve to protect children and prevent crimes.
