Tashkent was found to be the safest city in Central Asia

The city of Tashkent was recognized as the safest city in Central Asia. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
This was announced in the safety ranking compiled by the international analytical portal Numbeo based on the results of 2025. According to the ranking results, Tashkent surpassed all major cities in the region and ranked 51st globally.
Specifically, Tashkent ranked higher in the safety index than Kazakhstan's cities of Astana (81st) and Almaty (195th). Additionally, it was the leader among CIS countries, taking first place among the nine CIS cities included in the global top 100 ranking.
The ranking also featured several major Russian cities in high positions. For example, Nizhny Novgorod ranked 56th, Kazan 72nd, Kaliningrad 78th, and Moscow 99th.
On a global scale, Middle Eastern cities maintained their leadership in safety. The top three safest cities were Abu Dhabi, Doha, and Dubai.
Additionally, Taipei, Sharjah, Manama, Muscat, The Hague, Munich, and Trondheim were also listed among the top ten safest cities. According to Numbeo experts, the safety index is not based solely on crime rates.
It also takes into account the activities of law enforcement agencies, public order, the development of city infrastructure, as well as the personal opinions of residents and tourists. This approach allows for a broader and more objective understanding of the quality of life in the city.
